Since our inception, Mirage Hair Studio has strongly believed in giving back to the Myrtle Beach community. We are involved in many charitable endeavors and take an active role in the community to make it a better place. Our clients and employees have enthusiastically embraced our mission of helping our community thrive through charitable giving and investing in important causes.
Myrtle Beach Relay for Life – Soon after opening our doors for business we established our annual Cut-A-Thon where 100% of the proceeds gathered are then donated to the American Cancer Society. The Cut-A-Thon has become Mirages signature charity event. This was our 10th year participating in the Relay, an overnight event to raise funds to help finish the fight against cancer.
Caring in Our Lifetime – Each October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Mirage Hair Studio collects donations from pink hair extensions, blow outs and bracelets. The money is donated to ‘Caring in Our Lifetime’ a local non profit that helps women with breast cancer pay their medical bills.
A Day of Hope – Volunteers from our salon participate in this annual event in Myrtle Beach to help homeless children. School age children receive school supplies, dental and medical screenings, haircuts and much more at the valuable event.
Back to School Drive – We collect backpacks, notebooks and essential school supplies in August to help needy children in Horry County. All items are donated to local elementary schools. Help us help them start off the school year right!
Fostering Hope – Each year in December we shop for local children in foster care. We help to make sure they have gifts to open on Christmas morning. This year Fostering Hope supplied gifts to over 600 Horry county children.
Matter of Trust – We joined salons across the country by collecting hair clippings to be either stuffed into booms or woven into “hair mats” that were used to soak up the oil spilled in the Gulf in 2010. Hair is absorbent, large amounts of it can be used to soak up the oil before it damages the Gulf Coast shore. A pound of hair can absorb one quart in one minute, and hair mats can be wrung out and reused up to 100 times.
We also participate in many local charity auctions by donating our products and services. Let us know if you have a cause that needs our help!
